Experience
NMC Royalty Hospital Abu Dhabi
I joined the cardiology department under Dr Kamal Al Abdi and Dr Saeed Jasem Alteneiji, completing more than sixty hours of observation. I spent time in clinics and diagnostic rooms, learning how cardiologists interpret ECG patterns and angiograms to identify cardiovascular issues. Furthermore, I followed patient discussions to see how treatment plans were formed and adjusted. The placement gave me a practical view of how clinical reasoning connects investigation to patient progress.
NHS Manor View Practice
At Manor View Practice, I shadowed general practitioners across full clinic days, observing the pace and detail of community medicine. I followed consultations from first contact to follow-up, noting how treatment plans were adapted for each patient. I also spent time with the administrative team, learning how prescriptions, test requests, and referrals were processed. The placement helped me understand how coordination between staff and patients supports the care that defines the NHS.
Skyhop
At Skyhop, India’s first nationwide seaplane startup, I worked within the flight operations team to support route planning and scheduling. I applied quantitative reasoning to evaluate time-distance-fuel requirements for different flight paths, identifying ways to make operations more efficient. Additionally, I collaborated with pilots and dispatchers to ensure calculations aligned with real conditions. The internship deepened my understanding of how precision and data-driven planning sustain safety and performance in aviation.
Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital
At Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, I shadowed orthopedic surgeons Dr. Ibrar Majid and Dr. Sattar Alshryda, observing a range of pediatric procedures, including tumor removal and fracture repair. I learned to interpret X-rays and MRIs under supervision and assisted during post-operative care by helping prepare casts and tracking recovery progress. Time spent with patients and their families revealed the sensitivity needed to support children through treatment while maintaining clinical accuracy.
Rhode Island Hospital
At Rhode Island Hospital, I shadowed interventional radiologists and observed image-guided procedures that combined precision with care. I watched vertebroplasty and biopsy cases from preparation to recovery, noting how imaging shaped each decision. I also joined consultations where physicians explained risks and ensured patient understanding before consent. The placement revealed how radiology integrates technical skill with communication to deliver treatment that is extremely accurate, as well as being as minimally invasive as possible.
Mediclinic Parkview Hospital
During my time at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital, I observed physicians across multiple departments to understand how patient care unfolds in different clinical settings. I attended ward rounds and consultations where I learned how doctors assess cases and adapt to changing situations. In the emergency unit, I followed rapid decision-making under pressure, while in pediatrics and orthopedics, I saw how communication shapes treatment. The experience broadened my perspective on the many layers of hospital medicine.
Empire Aviation Group
Working with Empire Aviation Group introduced me to the business and logistical foundations of private flight. I learned how operational data translates into real-world decision-making by reviewing flight schedules, fuel reports, and expense breakdowns. My tasks included assessing charter costs and analysing records to ensure financial efficiency. Observing how teams coordinated aircraft readiness and client service gave me a detailed understanding of how discipline and planning drive safety and reliability in aviation.
Premed Projects
Through this virtual medical program, I explored the role of pathology in understanding disease progression and clinical diagnosis. I followed guided dissections that demonstrated how post-mortem analysis reveals the link between symptoms and underlying causes. The experience deepened my appreciation for the precision of investigative medicine and the responsibility involved in identifying how each detail contributes to the broader picture of a patient’s condition.
MedSchoolCoach
This program allowed me to explore a range of medical specialties through interactive case studies and physician-led teaching. I observed how doctors approached diagnosis and treatment across varied contexts, from surgical precision to long-term patient management. Each session provided a closer look at the reasoning that guides clinical judgement and the importance of balancing technical understanding with awareness of patient experience.
Thumbay Doctors Annual Meet
I was invited to attend the Thumbay Doctors Annual Meet, a large-scale medical conference that gathered healthcare professionals from across the region. The sessions explored developments in patient care and the changing needs of aging populations. Listening to keynote speakers and panel discussions offered perspective on how medical innovation depends on collaboration across disciplines and how progress in healthcare is shaped by both science and shared responsibility.
